Lenz finishes 6th in the men's 3K and Tancic takes 7th in the women's 1,500
SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University men's and women's track team headed north on Interstate-75 on Saturday to take part in the Tom Jones Invitational at the University of Florida's Percy Beard Track Complex in Gainesville.
Valentin Lenz had a solid showing in the men's 3,000-meter run finishing in a time of 8:50.10. He also finished 19th in the 1,500-meters in a time of 4:10.98.
Niclas Bez also posted a top-10 performance finishing 10th in the men's 800-meter in a time of 1:53.25.
Jelena Tancic recorded the women's top finish logging a time of 4:41.42 in the 1,500-meter run which was good enough for a seventh place finish.
Competing with Lenz in the 1,500-meter run was Rafael Lohner who took 23rd in a time of 4:13.20.
Thomas Watson was Saint Leo's lone participant in the 400-meters, crossing the finish line in 53.00 which placed him in 31st.
In the 200-meter run, Herns Agyemang-Duah finished in 38th in a time of 22.55, and Watson was 47th running the event in 24.00.
The Lions will return to action on Saturday, April 26 when they take part in the North Florida Invitational at the University of North Florida's Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville.
