Bez, Agyemang-Duah also record solid performances in final day of competition
SAINT LEO, Fla. – Select members of the Saint Leo University men's and women's track and field team's competed in the final day of competition, on Saturday, at the Embry Riddle Spike's Classic at the ERAU Track Complex in Daytona Beach.
Jelena Tancic recorded a second place finish in the women's 800-meter run posting a time of 2:18.90. Teammate Andrea Maxwell also competed in the 800 meters and crossed the finish line in sixth place with a time of 2:20.58.
On the men's side, Niclas Bez had another good outing, one day after winning the 1,500-meter run yesterday. Bez posted a fourth place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.23. Not far behind Bez was Herns Agyemang-Duah finishing in sixth place in 1:56.64.
James Mullin rounded out the Lions' competitors in the 800 taking 22nd place in a time of 1:58.63.
Agyemang-Duah, competing in his first season of track and field at Saint Leo, would also take part in the 400-meter run, placing sixth in a time of 48.92.
The Lions will return to action on Saturday, April 12 when they take part in the University of Tampa Distance Carnival at Pepin Stadium.
