No. 7 Lions Return to Postseason: Saint Leo to Host NCAA South Region Tournament

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The seventh-ranked Saint Leo women's tennis team is headed back to the NCAA Tournament, but this time the path to the National Championship will head through the Saint Leo Tennis Center as the Lions will host the NCAA South Region Tournament on Monday and Tuesday.

The Lions earned the hosting bid courtesy of a No. 2 seed in the South Region behind top-seeded Barry University.  The regional setup for NCAA Tennis features matches being played at the first two seeds in each region, with the respective site's champions advancing to the National Championships in Surprise, Ariz.

Saint Leo will welcome Valdosta State, West Florida and Florida Southern to the Saint Leo Tennis Center on April 29 and 30.  The Lions will face No. 7 seed Florida Southern in the semifinal round match on Monday at 9 a.m. while No. 3 West Florida will square off against No. 6 Valdosta State at 12:30 p.m.

The winners of both matches will advance to the Championship Match on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.
