Women’s Tennis Ranked No.12 in ITA Preseason National Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Saint Leo women's tennis team was ranked No.12 in the first edition of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Poll, it was announced Saturday by ITA officials.

The Lions, who finished-out last season with their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2007, concluded 2012 with a No.12 ranking according to the ITA.

Posting a program-record 18 victories a year ago, the Lions welcome in a series of new student-athletes to assist them to greater goals in 2013.

Meanwhile, the Lions double tandem of Adrianna Daszkiewicz and Emily Singleton came in ranked No.25 in the country.

Regionally, the Lions earned a fourth-place ranking in the south. In addition, both Singleton and Daszkiewicz earned singles honors as they came in 12th and 18th, respectively. The duo tandem also ranks fifth in the fifth.

Two other Sunshine State Conference teams cracked the top-10 as Lynn (4) and Barry (4) each made an appearance in the national poll.
