Women’s Tennis Wraps-Up Columbus State Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Saint Leo women's tennis team put the finishing touches on a successful trip to Columbus, Ga, as they recorded two more victories on the final day of the Columbus State Invitational. In total, the Lions registered 24 wins over the course of the three day tournament.

"This weekend was great for the girls and their progress," said head coach James Bryce. "I am very happy with the way we played. The girls gained valuable experience and learned not to under estimate any team."

With all four matches against regional foe Columbus State, the Lions went 2-2 on the afternoon with both of their wins coming in doubles action.

Maria Benkirane and Coralie Pesenti ousted Jokic and Chapman, 9-7, while Adrianna Daszkiewicz and Phoebe DiLeo blanked Redrado and Paiva, 8-0.

The Lions will return to action on Thursday, September 27, when they travel to Lakeland, Fla. to compete in the ITA South Regional.
