Women’s Tennis Opens Fall at Columbus State Invite

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Saint Leo women's tennis team posted wins in 10-of-13 matches, as the squad opened its 2012 fall, non-championship season, Friday from the Columbus State Fall Invitational.

A strong doubles start opened the Lions' first tournament of the fall as they went a combined 3-0. Highlighting the morning session was the All-Sunshine State Conference duo of Laura Kemkes and Emily Singleton as they blanked North Georgia's Escobar and Bertolucci, 8-0.

The winning ways continued for the Lions during the singles portion as secured seven match victories. Maria Benkirane and Adrianna Daszkiewicz ousted their opponents in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-1.
