Women's swimming goes 2-0 in double-dual

SAINT LEO, Fla. – In their second meet in as many days, the Saint Leo women's swim team went  2-0 in the double-dual meet between Rollins College and Trinity Division III Trinity University (Texas).

Saint Leo outscored Rollins, 168.0-80.0, and took down Trinity, 161.0-87.0. They also saw two swimmers earn 'B-Cut' times as Natalia Garriock won the 100 Free with a 52.03 time and on Senior Day, Nicole Weber earned a 'B-Cut' time of 2:18.24 in the 200 Breaststroke race.


The Lions took home 11 wins in the double-dual. In the 200 Medley Relay, Saint Leo went 1-2, as Garriock, Weber, Annie Lindstrom, and Matalin Shaver took the win at 1:49.49, while Maftuna Tuhtasinova, Jaclyn Taylor, Allyssa Black, and Alicia Carlin took second at 1:52.79.

In the 400 Free Relay, the Lions went 1-3, with Shaver, Tuhtasinova, Weber, and Lindstrom in first at 3:37.58, and Garriock, Olga Britton, Carlin, and Alyssa McNamara came in third at 3:40.46.

Tuhtasinova took home two individual wins, taking the 100 Back, 58.13, and the 200 Back, 2:05.32. Weber added two wins, her 'B-Cut' 200 Breaststroke win, and the 100 Breaststroke, 1:05.33. Claire Langer also recorded two wins, taking the 1000 Free, 10:49.46, and the 500 Free, 5:19.77.

Shaver added a win in the 50 Free with a 24.84 time, and Lindstrom took the 100 Fly at 57.69.

Lindstrom took second in the 200 Free with a 1:57.63, while senior Allyssa Black took second in the 200 Fly with a 2:19.13 time on Senior Day.


Saint Leo women's swimming heads to Tampa on Friday, Jan. 27 for a 3 p.m. dual.
