Women's swimming wraps up Florida Tech Invitational


MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's swimming team wrapped up the final day of the Florida Tech Invitational with two B-Cut marks that were also first-place finishes.

The women's team finished third in the team scores with 684 points. West Florida won with 1,166.50 points, and North Florida came in second with 823.5. Lynn came in fourth with 507 points, and FIT finished last with 327 points.

Natalia Garriock earned a B-Cut standard time in the 100 Free race. She took home the win and the B-Cut with a time of 50.54.

In the 200 Breaststroke race, Nicole Weber claimed the title with a B-Cut standard time of 2:19.93 in the finals. In the prelims, she swam a time of 2:19.65 to move up her B-Cut time.

Maftuna Tuhtasinova finished third in the 200 Backstroke race with a time of 2:04.04. Carylyn Waite finished fourth in the 100 Free with a time of 52.95.


The Lions take a break from action until January 7, 2017, when they return to the pool for the Tampa Relays.
