Lions Remain Seventh in Second Day of NSU Shark Invitational

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's swim team represented well in the second day of the four-day NSU Shark Invitational as the Lions totaled 66 points and held their seventh place standing in the 10-team meet.

With the day's schedule of events holding two relays including the 200 Free and 400 Medley the Lions saw the 'A' relay group of Bianca Muniz, Paula Carvajal, Kristy Marques and Rachel Cunio finish 11th in the 200 Free finals with a time of 1:40.17, nearly a second and a half faster than their seed time.  The 'B' relay grouping of Stephanie Martinez, Katie Sanacore, Lindsay Albanese and Megan McGowan touched in 26th place with a time of 1:48.51.

Muniz, Carvajal, Chantal Bouthillier and Allyssa Black teamed up to place 16th in the 400 Medley touching with a time of 4:05.80, an impressive three seconds faster than their qualifying time.

Sanacore, Cunio, Marques and Chloe Pellican teamed up to place 26th as the 'B' relay team in the same event.

Individually, Black impressed in the 100 fly as she advanced into the finals where she placed 17th with a time of 59.71.

At the halfway point of the biggest pre-conference meet of the season, the Lions will be back at the NSU Aquatics Center for the first competition of Day 3 at around 9:30 a.m.
