Women’s Swimming Edged by Rollins, 139-123

WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's swimming team, despite a combined five wins from Erin Bobsein and Paula Carvajal, lost a Sushine State Conference dual meet with Rollins College by the score of 139-123, Saturday afternoon from the Alfond Pool.

In total, Saint Leo registered six event wins and took runner-up in six events.

The Lions 'A' 200 Yard Medley team provided the first win of the afternoon for the Lions as the quartet, anchored by Isabella Bains, defeated the Tars' top squad by two seconds as they finished with a time 1.53.65.

Bobsein led the field in the 100 Yard Backstroke as she posted the Lions first win of the day as she touched at 1:02.87. Carvajal made it back-to-back wins as she posted the Lions second individual victory as she clocked in with a time of 1:09.48 in the 100 Yard Breaststroke.

Bobsein then registered a first-place time of 2:14.27 in the 200 Yard Backstroke. Her top showing was matched by Carvajal as she earned the first-place in the 200 Yard Breaststroke at 2:32.67.

Carvajal was just two seconds off a school program record time in the 200 Yard IM as she finished with her third event win of the day, posting a time of 2:17.34.

Saint Leo will return to the pool on Saturday, October 27, when they travel to Winter Park, Fla. to take on the Rollins College Tars. The meet is scheduled to get underway at 1:00 p.m. from the Alfond Swimming Pool.
