Women's Soccer Reveals Full Season Schedule

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University women's soccer team unveiled its full 2014 schedule for the upcoming season.  The campaign will feature a total of 17 contests including eight Sunshine State Conference matchups for the Lions.  The Green and Gold will host nine home games at University Field throughout the year.

Sophomore Arielle Kabangu returns after a phenomenal freshman season which saw her earn multiple accolades including a NSCAA Division II All-American, Daktronics Division II All-American and SSC Player of the Year.  The Ottawa native scored a team-leading 22 goals in her first season donning the Green and Gold.

The Lions will begin its 2014 campaign with an exhibition game against Stetson on Friday Aug. 29th.  O'Connor's squad will play their home opener against Spring Hill College the following week on Sept. 4th before hosting Carson-Newman Sept. 6th.

The Saint Leo team will then hit the road to play a pair of Peach Belt Conference opponents in USC-Aiken on Sept. 12 and Lander University on Sept. 14th.

Continuing into the month of September, the women's team will face familiar foe Rollins College in a non-conference meeting on the 17th.  The Lions play Weber International on the 20th followed by another non-conference matchup against Eckerd College on the road (Sept. 24).

Saint Leo will kick off conference play against Nova Southeastern University with a home contest on Saturday, Sep. 27.  The squad will then face seven SSC opponents for the month of October, beginning with a home game against the University of Tampa on the Wednesday, Oct. 1.  The following week, the Lions will travel to Melbourne, Fla. to face Florida Tech on Saturday, Oct. 4.

The team will trek to Rollins College on Saturday, Oct. 11 before hosting Eckerd College on Wednesday, Oct. 15, and reigning SSC champions Barry University on the Saturday, Oct. 18 for the final home contest of the regular season.

O'Connor's squad will conclude the regular season with a pair of road contests against Florida Southern College (Oct. 22) before ending the 2014 campaign with a Saturday matinee versus Lynn University on Saturday, Oct. 25.
