Women's Soccer Downed by Rollins, 5-0
Winter Park, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's soccer team (2-10-1, 1-6-1 SSC) fell to the Rollins College Tars (8-4-1, 5-1 SSC) by a final score of 4-0 on Saturday night in Winter Park, Fla.
The Tars' first of five strikes came in the 20th minute when Brenna McKee found the back of the net after the assist from Allie Holly. Six minutes before halftime, Holly added a goal of her own, extending the Tars' lead to 2-0 at the half.
After the break, the Tars took little time getting back to their offensive attack. Just four minutes into second-half play, Rollins' Ali Schrader scored her first goal of the season when her shot found the upper half of the net off after the assist came from Taylor Thigpen.
Just two minutes after scoring her first goal of the season, Schrader struck again, this time off of the assist from Holly.
The Saint Leo defensive woes continued and Rollins was able to tack on another in the 56th minute when Schrader completed her hat trick for the evening after she knocked one from long range.
The Lions' managed to get three shots on goal, but were unable to capitalize on any opportunities.
The women's soccer team gets back in action on Oct 17 when they host the Florida Tech Panthers at 7:30 p.m. at University Field.
