Women’s Soccer Climbs to Sixth on Latest NSCAA DII Poll

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – With their final game of the regular season looming on the horizon, the Saint Leo women's soccer team checks in at No. 6 on the latest NSCAA Division II Coaches Poll, announced Tuesday.

The Lions, who hold onto an overall record of 14-1-1, and 6-0-1 in Sunshine State Conference play, look to take down the University of Tampa Spartans (10-4-2, 4-2-1 SSC) on Thursday evening on the Spartans' home pitch.  The win would clinch the SSC regular season championship for the Green and Gold, and would notch a new mark in the record books as the first regular season title in program history.

Saint Leo tops the list of three SSC schools on this week's poll.  Rollins checks in at No. 12, while Tampa pops into the regular season top-25 for the first time this season, earning a spot at No. 24.  The Spartans came in at No. 14 on this year's preseason poll, but did not appear in regular rankings until this week.

Florida Tech, who came in at 21st last week, dropped out this week's rankings.

The Green and Gold squares off against Tampa in its highly anticipated final match of the regular season at Pepin Stadium, Thursday evening.  Kickoff against the Spartans is set for 7 p.m.  For the latest news, updates, and information on the Lions, visit SaintLeoLions.com.
