Burns, Coppolo named to women's lacrosse All-SSC Second Team

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's lacrosse team saw two student-athletes honored as the Sunshine State Conference postseason awards were released on Thursday afternoon.

Both junior Amanda Coppolo and senior Kelsey Burns were named to the All-SSC Second Team.

This marks the third-straight year Burns was named to the Second Team, while Coppolo earned the honor in 2015 as well.

Coppolo finished with a career-high 21 caused turnovers this season and added 24 ground balls. She also won four draw controls.

Burns finished with a team-best 35 goals and added five assists. She added 30 draw wins while causing 10 turnovers and grabbing 33 ground balls. Burns made nine free position goals as well.

Emily Santoli of Florida Southern College was selected Player of the Year. Lauren Tybor of Florida Tech earns Freshman of the Year accolades. Corinne Desrosiers of Florida Tech was named Coach of the Year.
