Burns named to All-Sunshine State Conference Second Team

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's lacrosse team saw junior Kelsey Burns earn a place on the All-Sunshine State Conference Second Team, as announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon.

Burns started all 15 games for the Lions this season, recording 23 goals and four assists. She also posted career-highs in caused turnovers, 15, and draw controls, 30.

The junior from Colts Neck, N.J., made a career-high eight free position goals, while also adding 27 ground balls.

This marks Burns' second-straight All-SSC Second Team honor after making the team as a sophomore. As Burns heads into her senior season, she sits at 77 career goals, 16 career assists. She has won 58 draw controls and scooped up 79 ground balls. She has also caused a total of 32 turnovers.

Florida Tech's Allie Modica was named Player of the Year, while Rollins' Kallie German earned Freshman of the Year. Corinne Desrosiers of Florida Tech was named Coach of the Year.
