Saint Leo falls in overtime, 8-7, to Tampa

Saint Leo, Fla. - The Saint Leo women's lacrosse team fell to Sunshine State Conference foe, University of Tampa, on Saturday afternoon in nail-biting overtime action, 8-7.

Saint Leo's second half was undeniably the come-back bid a team hopes for, but ultimately it fell short in the first overtime period. The Lions' defense held strong in the second half, holding the Spartans completely scoreless in the 30-minute period to push the game into extra periods. However, Tampa was able to net the game-winner with just 26-seconds on the clock in the first three-minute period.

With a stellar performance in net, Rebecca Halley did her part to help the Lions come-back effort, recording a career-high 13 save. With 114 saves so far this season, she is now just 10 saves from breaking the single-season saves record of 123 set in 2012.

Caroline Fraser recorded her 13th assist on the season, making the junior two assists away from breaking the single-season assist record.
