Saint Leo Records Seventh Win Behind Millsap's Near-Shutout

DUE WEST, SC – Visiting Saint Leo University (7-5) sprinted out to a 9-0 halftime lead as the Lions defeated the Erskine Flying Fleet (5-9) 13-2 in non-conference women's lacrosse action at Huggins Field.

Host Erskine struggled to get the ball past the Lions' goalkeeper Brittany Millsap as she was solid in goal.  Millsap recorded 11 saves on 14 shots, yielding just two goals.  Millsap held a shutout for nearly the entire game, with Erskine recording their first goal with just five minutes left in the game.

Helping record the program's seventh win, Saint Leo was led by Alix Murray and Joanna Chadwick as each tallied three goals and an assist.

The highlight for Erskine was goalkeeper Konstandena Brown as she faced 23 shots, surrendering 13 goals while saving eight attempts.

The Lions will continue their trip through South Carolina as they face Newberry on Saturday.  The game against the Wolves is scheduled to get underway at 2:00 p.m.
