SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University women's lacrosse head coach Lesley Graham has announced the addition of Ali Gibbons as the team's first assistant. A graduate of Robert Morris University, Gibbons will begin her duties immediately.
"We are excited to have Ali join our Lions' lacrosse family," said Graham. She brings quality coaching experience from her time overseas, as well as a wealth of lacrosse knowledge from her Division I playing days at Robert Morris. She will certainly help grow the success of our new program."
Gibbons, in addition to her on-field responsibilities, will coordinate recruiting and academic development tasks.
As a coach, she gained integral experience in Europe as she headed up the women's lacrosse program at Leeds Metropolitan University, while taking on player/coach responsibilities at the Brooklands Sports Club in Manchester during the spring of 2012.
"I am thankful for the opportunity Coach Graham has given me to help this program grow," said Gibbons. We have a lot of potential heading into the year and I hope I can help push this team to their full potential.
Gibbons got her start, however, as a player at Robert Morris University in Moon Township, Pa. She concluded her career in the top-10 in points (76), goals (51), assists (25), and shots (149), while also achieving All-Northeast Conference standards and most valuable player honors in 2009-10. She graduated in 2010 with a degree in Communications.
Gibbons currently resides in San Antonio, Fla.
