Women’s golf ranked second in NCAA South Region

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's golf team checked in at No. 2 in the South Region, according to the first round of regional rankings issued Thursday by the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Committee.

Barry University was ranked first in the South Region. Trailing the Lions in the South Region are No. 3 Rollins, No. 4 Florida Tech, No. 5 Nova Southeastern, No. 6 Lynn, No. 7 West Florida , No. 8 Lee, No. 9 Montevallo, No. 10 West Georgia, No. 11 Flagler, No. 12 Armstrong State, No. 13 Florida Southern, and No. 14 Wingate.

The NCAA committee's regional rankings are used to select teams for the NCAA Super Regional Championships in early May. The top 12 teams in the South Region, along with six individuals not on those teams, will compete in the South Super Regional on May 8-10 at The Members Club at Woodcreek in Elgin, S.C.

The top three teams and low three individuals not on those teams will advance to the national championship on May 17-20 in Findlay, Ohio.
