Lions in 2nd After Day 1 at Lady Argonaut Invitational

Connolly in 2nd while three other Saint Leo golfers are in the top 20 

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University women's golf team finds itself in second place after the first day of play at the University of West Florida's Lady Argonaut Invitational at Stonebrook Golf Club in Pensacola, Fla. 

The Lions shot a shot a two-round total of 640 (316-324) and sits four strokes ahead West Georgia (321-323) and Limestone who each shot a 644 through day one and share third place. 

The Lady Argonauts find themselves in first shooting a two-round total of 612 (304-308). 

Saint Leo was led, in the first two rounds, by Clare Connolly who shot a 153 (77-76) and is in second place. She will come into the final round on Tuesday just two strokes behind the leader, West Florida's Daisy-May Kenny, who shot a 151 (76-75). 

Marie Coors is tied for 11th having shot a 161 (77-84) and Lauren Petty is in 14th after shooting a 162 (80-82).

Lauren Shuford currently sits in a tie for 17th place shooting a two-round total of 164 (82-82), while Heather Petronis shot a 180 (86-94) good enough for a share of 32nd

Rounding out the Lions' competitors is Alyssa Barrett who is 39th place after a 195 (99-96) through the first day.

Northeastern State is in fifth place having shot a 660 (336-324) for the two rounds. 

Saint Leo will get back on the course on Tuesday, April 1 for the final round of play.
