Women's Golf Ranks 6th in Golf World Coaches Poll

NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Golf World/NGCA Division II College Women's Preseason Coaches' Poll has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine and the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA). Lynn University, winner at the Guy Harvey Invitational, stayed in the No. 1 spot in the latest Golf World/WGCA women's Division II coaches' poll. The Fighting Knights garnered 18 of 21 available first-place votes.

Rollins claimed the No. 2 spot with Barry coming in at No. 3 thanks to receiving two first-place votes. Rounding out the top five are Florida Tech and St. Edward's.

Led by new women's golf coach Tommy Baker, the Lions squad improved from a 14th-place ranking amongst the nation's top Division II programs to land in the 6th spot.

After taking home first-place finishes at the Smoky Mountain Intercollegiate Invitational and the Myrtle Beach Invitational, the Saint Leo women's golf team will host the Saint Leo Women's Golf Invitational on Monday, October 21 and Tuesday, October 22nd at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Saint Leo, Fla.
