Women's Golf Ranked 11th in Latest Coaches' Poll

NEW YORK—The Saint Leo University women's golf team checks in at No. 11 the latest Golf World/WGCA Division II College Women's Coaches' Poll, which combines the resources of Golf World magazine and the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA). This is the second poll released of the fall season. This week, five of the nation's top six teams hail from the Sunshine State Conference.

The poll comes one day after the Lions took home first place at the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate and set a new record-low for 36-hole tournaments after shooting a 291-301—592. Two weeks prior, the Lions finished ninth at the NCAA Fall Preview in a field that consisted of nine Top 25 teams.

The team has now begun preparing for the Saint Leo Invitational, the team's only home event of the year. The tournament will be held at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club on Oct 15-16.
