NCAA Women's Fall Preview

DAYTONA, Fla. - The No. 9 Saint Leo University women's golf team opens up its fall season on Sunday, Sep 16 at the NCAA Fall Preview in Daytona, Fla. Hosted by the LPGA International Golf Club, the 72 par 18-hole Legends Golf Course features 6,984 yards of golf. 

The three-day tournament includes a 15-team field including No. 2 Florida Southern, No. 6 Lynn University, No. 7 Barry University, No. 18 California (PA), No. 13 Newberry, No. 8 Central Oklahoma, Dallas Baptist, No. 10 Cal State-Monterey Bay, Ashland, No. 22 W. Texas A&M, Academy of Art, Florida Tech, Belmont Abbey, and Univ. of West Florida

"Our scores are fantastic right now and our games are through the roof," junior captain Heather Petronis said. "We are already at the point where we were last spring, which was at our best. We have an extreme amount of potential. So far into this year I am super confident and I know that we're going to start it off in a great way this weekend." 

The Lions return six players from their 2011-12 campaign that ended just two strokes shy of qualifying for the NCAA National Tournament, and added two newcomers in Lauren Shuford and Lauren Petty
