SAINT LEO, Fla.— As the fall semester continues to approach, the Saint Leo University women's golf team has released its 2012 fall schedule. The Lions will compete in four tournaments, starting the season at the NCAA Fall Preview on Sept. 17 in Daytona, Fla.
"Our fall schedule will be as challenging as ever and will feature some familiar tournaments as well as a couple of new events," said head coach Erika Brennan. "We look forward to competing in the NCAA Fall preview this year and seeing where we stack up against the best teams in the country right out of the gate."
The Lions will play in the 13th Annual Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate in North Myrtle Beach, SC. (Oct. 1-2) and will once again host the Saint Leo Invitational (Oct. 15-16) at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, Fla.
In the 2011 Lions' fall victory, returning senior Ragna Olafsdottir fired seven-over 151 (75-76—151) to finish tied fourth as an individual.
"We will attempt to defend the championship at the Saint Leo Invitational this year, however, the field is extremely competitive once again so we will need to be in top form to reach that goal," added Brennan.
The Lions will wrap up their fall season at the Flagler Fall Slam (Oct. 22-23) at the Marsh Creek Country club in St. Augustine, Fla.
The fall campaign will kick-off the team's championship season as they vie for their fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.
