SAINT LEO, Fla. – Former Saint Leo women's golfer Goeun Lee and senior Ragna Olafsdottir were selected National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Team members, it was announced Tuesday.
Performing well in the classroom, as well as the course, the duo put up outstanding numbers throughout the year. Olafsdottir supplanted herself in the record book by posting the ninth-best two-round tournament in program history as she fired a seven-over 151 at the Saint Leo Invitational in the fall of 2011.
Lee, on the other hand, wrapped-up her four year career with the fifth-best scoring average in program history. In 91 total rounds, Lee finished with an 80.43 scoring average. She also topped the record books with the top three-round tournament score in program's history, shooting a five-over 222 at the NCAA Regional Tournament last May.
In total, 602 women's collegiate golfers across Division I, II, and III were recognized with the accolade, including 18 from the Sunshine State Conference.
To be selected, a student-athlete must carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50.
Saint Leo will open its fall campaign at the NCAA Fall Preview. The tournament is set for September 16-18 and will be held at the LPGA International Golf Club in Daytona Beach, Fla.
