SAINT LEO, Fla. – In another first for the Saint Leo women’s golf team, senior Anna Riss was named to the 2010 All-Sunshine State Conference Women’s Golf Second Team it was announced by SSC Commissioner Jay Jones.

Riss, who is the only four-year member of the Lions squad in 2010, had a team-leading season to wrap up the schedule.  The individual winner of the Flagler Fall Slam, Riss propelled her team to the top-spot in the tournament during the fall.  For the year, Riss added two top-5 finishes and five top-10 results in her final season in the Green & Gold.

In looking at her resume, the Frankfurt, Germany native will finish her Saint Leo career holding nearly every individual record in the program’s short history.  Holding the program’s lowest scoring average in a single season at 77.04, she is also tied with junior Jordan Hatch for the lowest round with a 71 in the Flagler Fall Slam.  Her experience and superb play also led the Lions to the program’s first three tournament victories and, more recently, the highest-ever finish in the conference tournament and a bid to the NCAA Postseason Regional Tournament.

Riss was one of ten student-athletes named to the 2010 All-Sunshine State Conference Women's Golf Team as SSC and defending NCAA Division II champion Nova Southeastern swept the major awards. Sandra Changkija was selected Golfer of the Year, while Kevin Marsh was chosen Coach of the Year, and Abbey Gittings was tabbed Freshman of the Year.

Voting for the all-conference women's golf team was conducted among the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
