Tamarac, Fla. (March 27, 2007) – The Saint Leo University women’s golf team finished 11th at the 2007 NSU Spring Classic following the final round of play on Tuesday. The Lions shot a two-day total of 694 (344-350) at the tournament hosted by Nova Southeastern University and played at Woodmont Country Club.
Sophomore Angela Sparagowski (Sylvania, Ohio) was tied for 17th individually following a 36-hole total of 158 (74-84).
The event was won by the University of West Florida who shot a team total of 613 (313-300) to finish four strokes ahead of first round leader Daytona Beach Community College.
Barry University’s RemiJin Camping (77-73-150) took home medalist honors, winning a three player playoff on the first hole to top NSU’s Lina Bjorklund (72-78-150) and Florida Tech’s Stacey O’Hara (75-75-150). Camping entered the clubhouse with the low round of the second day of play.
Saint Leo’s next event will be the 2007 Sunshine State Conference Championships at the Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Fla. The event will be played April 16-17.
