WBCA Release

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo women's basketball assistant coach Megan Dzikas was named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's "Thirty Under 30" list for the 2016-17 season that was released this week.

The WBCA Thirty Under 30 special recognition program was created to honor 30 up-and-coming women's basketball coaches age 30 and under at all levels of the game. Each recipient has exemplified their involvement in community service, mentorship and impact on others, professional manner and attitude and professional association involvement. This is the second group of honorees as the 2016 Class was the inaugural one.

"I am very grateful to be honored by the WBCA," Dzikas said of being one of the 30 honorees. "It feels wonderful to be recognized in such a great class of young talented coaches. I would also like to thank everyone who has helped me on my coaching journey, starting with my current head coach, Anthony Crocitto, and all the amazing head coaches that I have worked under."

Dzikas, the only honoree from the Sunshine State Conference, recently finished her first season at Saint Leo under head coach Anthony Crocitto.

"Megan is a fantastic assistant coach," Crocitto stated. "She is everything you want in a top assistant as she is as loyal as the day is long and she is very hard working. She is well respected by her staff and Saint Leo student-athletes. She will last very long in this business and will be a very successful head coach. I'm so proud to see her accept this honor and she should be very proud of herself."
