GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced its 2013-14 Capital One Academic All-District Women's Basketball Teams on Thursday. Saint Leo senior Teresa Manigrasso was selected as one of six student-athletes on the Academic All-District 5 Division II First Team.
Manigrasso, a senior guard from Atlantic Highlands, N.J., leads the Lions in points scored this season, tallying 263 points and 15.5 points per game. In addition, she is just 11 points away from scoring her 1,000th career point. The Criminal Justice Major also ranks 4th in the Sunshine State Conference in scoring.
Manigrasso's presence on the court has contributed in large part to the Lions' team success this year. Saint Leo currently leads the conference in rebounding margin and offensive rebound percentage, while also ranking second in scoring offense and rebounding offense.
Barry's Colette Eule (Sr., Biology) and Florida Southern's Ali Sanders (So., Human Movement & Performance) were the only other Sunshine State Conference players recognized.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected.
