WINTER PARK, Fla.—Saint Leo junior guard Teresa Manigrasso has been named Sunshine State Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week presented by VALIC.
Manigrasso, a native of Atlantic Highlands, N.J., averaged 16.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 3.0 steals in a pair of big Sunshine State Conference wins for the Lions. In a 53-47 victory at Eckerd, Manigrasso tallied 14 points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Her stat line was nearly identical in a 52-48 win over Rollins, as she registered 18 points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. The Lions' victory was their first over the Tars since the 1997-98 season. In two outings, Manigrasso shot 45 percent (13-for-29) from the field and made all four of her free throw attempts.
The Lions have won two in a row and three out of their last four as they are exactly half way through conference play. The team will get back at it on Saturday, Feb. 2 when they travel to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. to take on Nova Southeastern.
