SAINT LEO, Fla. – Behind a double-double performance from Christina Granville on Monday night the Saint Leo women's basketball team (4-2) beat the Warner University Royals (3-3) by a score of 92-43. The Lions' performance marks the first time since Nov. 21, 2009 that the team reached the 90-point plateau, and is the largest margin of victory since Nov. 19, 2008.

For the first time since 2008, five Lions finished the game in double-figures. Granville notched her first double-double of the season when she recorded 14 points and 11 rebounds in the Lions' dominant performance. Chelsea Williams led all scorers with 19 points, despite playing just 20 minutes, and was one rebound shy of reaching a double-double, with nine. Kinara Lewis contributed 16 points, going 3-4 from beyond the arc. Going 6-13 from the field, Teresa Manigrasso added 14 points of her own to reach double figures for the fifth time in six games this season. Elise Clyburn added 10 points and three assists in 25 minutes of action.

Saint Leo jumped out to 21-8 lead in the first half after quickly establishing their presence in the key. The Lions were too much for the Royals to handle down low—outrebounding Warner 57-20 and outscoring them 48-2 in the post. In the lights-out shooting performance, Saint Leo shot 56.9 percent for the game, and 34.8 percent from behind the arc.

Leading 45-25 at the half, the Lions went on a 14-3 run to start the second half to stretch their lead to 59-28. Behind a 60 percent shooting performance in the second half, the Lions continued to pack on the points. The Lions were able to score 14 points off of forced turnovers and scored 17 second chance points, while holding Warner to zero.

Allison Porter led Warner in points and rebounds, collecting 13 and nine, respectively.

The women's basketball team gets back in action on Saturday, Dec 1, when the Sharks of Nova Southeastern University come to town for the first Sunshine State game of the year. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m.
