Jessee Announces Additional Signing of Shalisa Hill
SAINT LEO, Fla. – In addition to last week’s four signings, Women’s Basketball Coach Nikki Jessee has announced the signing of the team’s fifth Lion as transfer Shalisa Hill will join Saint Leo for the 2011-12 season.

Jessee Announces 2011-12 Incoming Class
SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo Women’s Basketball Coach Nikki Jessee has announced the signings of Rachel Burnett (Largo, Fla.), Christina Granville (Clewiston, Fla.), Kinnara Lewis (Miami, Fla.), and Sarah Winans (Mount Prospect, Ill.) to National Letters of Intent. The quartet, consisting of three freshmen and one transfer, will hit the floor for the Lions in 2011-12.

Jessee Tabs Jessica Cooley as Assistant Coach
SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo women’s basketball coach, Nikki Jessee, has announced Jessica Cooley as the team’s first assistant coach, it was announced Wednesday. Cooley joins the Lions as a recent graduate of Northwood University (FL) where she competed for four seasons under the tutelage of legendary basketball coach Rollie Massimino .

Saint Leo University Selects Nikki Jessee Next Head Women's Basketball Coach
SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University Director of Athletics, Francis X. Reidy, has announced the selection of Nikki Jessee as the next head women’s basketball coach for the Lions. Previously, Jessee served as the assistant women’s basketball coach at Sunshine State Conference perennial contender the University of Tampa. Jessee is the 11th coach in program history.

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Lions’ freshman forward Chelsea Williams became the first Saint Leo women’s basketball player since 2004 to be named to the Sunshine State Conference All-Freshman team, it was announced Thursday by SSC Commissioner Jay Jones.

Spartans' Perimeter Shooting Prevents Lions' Upset; Fall, 60-48
SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women’s basketball team (9-16, 1-13 SSC) could not keep pace with the perimeter shooting of the University of Tampa Spartans (18-5, 10-3 SSC) as they torched the nets for 11 three-point field goals in taking down the home standing Lions, 60-48, Wednesday evening from the Bowman Center in Sunshine State Conference action.

Lions to Host Spartans in WBCA Pink Zone Event
SAINT LEO, Fla. - On Wednesday, the Saint Leo women’s basketball team will play host to the University of Tampa. Aside from the usual festivities normally associated with the rivalry that is Saint Leo/Tampa, the Lions and Spartans will participate in the annual WBCA ‘Pink Zone’ Game in hopes of raising awareness and funds for the Kay Yow Foundation.
