WINTER PARK, Fla. - Despite three double-digit performances, the Saint Leo women's basketball team could not keep pace with the 18th-ranked Rollins College Tars as the Lions fell 71-61 on the road on Wednesday evening.
The Lions (9-11, 1-9 SSC) saw a brief lead at the beginning of the second half, but could not capitalize on the advantage, ultimately watching the host Tars (18-2, 8-2 SSC) go on two big runs to open up double-digit advantages, including the final one at the end of the game.
Saint Leo saw double-digit nights from Dominique Daniels with 17 points, Whitley Washington who dropped in 14 and Marquita Fenn who scored 13 points in the loss.
The Lions next return home to face Florida Tech on Saturday afternoon. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the Marion Bowman Activities Center on the Saint Leo campus.
