Saint Leo, Fla. (February 23, 2008) – The Saint Leo University women’s basketball team (12-13, 5-9 SSC) fell 55-33 to visiting Barry University (17-8, 8-6 SSC) on Saturday afternoon in a Sunshine State Conference game at the Bowman Center.

Dominique Daniels (So., Columbus, Ohio) led Saint Leo with nine points in the game, as a big second half propelled Barry to the victory.  The Bucs were led by Princess Bailey who scored a game-high 15 points and also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.  Barry’s Alisha Sanford was the only other player in double figures with 10 points in the contest.

Barry outscored Saint Leo 35-13 in the second half after the opening 20 minutes finished with the teams tied at 20 apiece.  The Bucs used a 25-1 run early in the second half to seize control of the contest.  Barry led by as many as 24 points late in the game, as the Bucs completed a season series sweep.

Neither team shot well from the floor with Barry shooting 38.9% (21-of-54) for the game and Saint Leo shooting 30.6% (11-of-36).  Barry held the rebounding edge 38-25 overall and a 12-3 advantage on the offensive glass.

Saint Leo will play its final home game of the season on Wednesday night when the Lions host Eckerd College at 5:30 p.m.  The night will mark Senior Night and Hawaiian Night at the Bowman Center.
