Lakewood, Colo. (November 24, 2007) – The Saint Leo University women’s basketball team (3-2) fell 90-67 to the University of Missouri-Rolla (2-0) in the Lions’ final game of the 2007 Colorado Christian University Thanksgiving Classic in Lakewood, Colo. on Saturday.

Saint Leo was led by Dominique Daniels (So., Columbus, Ohio) who scored 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting.  Amanda Holloway (Sr., West Palm Beach, Fla.) scored in double figures for the fifth straight time with 13 points.  Latasha Lawrence (Sr., Jacksonville, Fla.) added 10 points to round out a trio of Lions in double figures.

For the second consecutive game, the Lions fell behind early and trailed for much of the opening half.  Missouri-Rolla led by as many as 29 points in the first half and eventually took a 51-32 lead into the half-time locker room.

The Lions again mounted a comeback in the second half, but the closest Saint Leo could get was to make it a 66-55 game with 11:43 remaining.  The Miners pulled away again courtesy of a 16-3 run and eventually posted their second straight win with the 90-67 victory.

Saint Leo will return to the hardwood on Friday, December 7 when it travels to West Palm Beach, Fla. to face Palm Beach Atlantic University at 7:00 p.m.
