The Lions got a game-high 24 points from junior forward Marquita Fenn (Ft. Pierce, Fla.), but were unable to overcome a trio of Tampa players in double figures.  Roni Carithers (Jr., Jacksonville, Fla.) added 12 points in defeat for Saint Leo.

The Lions raced to a 9-3 lead early, but Tampa responded with a 19-2 run to take control of the game and open up a 13-point lead midway through the first.  The lead eventually grew to as many as 16 late in the half before Saint Leo scored the final four points of the half to trail by just six at the break.

The Spartans built the lead to 11 again early in the second half, but the Lions fought back with a 9-2 run to get within four.  However, that was as close as SLU would get with Tampa stretching the lead to a game-high 18 points down the stretch.
