ORLANDO, Fla. - Saint Leo junior Bruna Rocha was named the Sunshine State Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week; it was announced by SSC Commissioner Jay Jones on Monday afternoon.

The outside hitter turned in a stellar all-around performance in leading the No. 23 Lions to a pair of road wins against nationally-ranked conference opponents as she helped keep SLU undefeated in the SSC and pushed their record win-streak to 12 games.

Rocha averaged 5.4 kills, 2.9 digs, 0.9 blocks, and 0.4 service aces per set. She tallied an impressive .507 attack percentage.

Opening the week with a four-set win at No. 25 Eckerd, she notched a double-double with 17 kills, 11 digs, four blocks, and three service aces. She hit .469 in the contest. In a three-set sweep at No. 4 Tampa, the native of Sao Paulo, Brazil collected 21 kills without a single error, as well as nine digs and two blocks. Her hitting percentage was an impressive .538 in the Lions' first win over UT in 57 meetings.

This marks the fourth-straight SLU volleyball player to receive the award as Kaitlin McKenna claimed the honor the last three weeks.

Rocha will lead the Lions into a ‘White-Out’ match with at home with visiting Florida Southern on Tuesday night where all fans in attendance are encouraged to wear white.  The Lions then host a weekend doubleheader with matches against Nova Southeastern and Bentley University on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
