Winter Park, Fla. (October 31, 2006) – The Saint Leo University volleyball team (20-9, 7-7 SSC) was swept by the Rollins College Tars (18-12, 6-8 SSC) at the Warden Arena in Winter Park, Fla. on Tuesday night.  Rollins evened the season series between the two with game scores of 30-26, 30-28, 30-27.

Saint Leo was led by Audrey Starkebaum (So., Sterling, Colo.) and Emily Frey (So., Mason, Ohio), as each totaled 11 kills in the match.  However, the Rollins trio of Stephanie Nichols, Christina Reinders and Piper Young each had 12 kills to lead the Tars.

Despite scoring the opening six points of the match, the Lions fell into an early 2-0 hole in the match.  Saint Leo closed to within two points late in game three with hopes of stretching the match into a fourth game.  However, it was as close as the Lions would come, as they split the season series with the Tars.

Saint Leo continues its final stretch of the 2006 regular season with a visit to Melbourne, Fla. on Thursday to face Florida Tech in another SSC match.  The match is slated to begin at 7:00 p.m.
