Douglas Klipp was named assistant coach in September 2011 and is entering his second season on the Lions' coaching staff.

Klipp comes to the Lions after spending two seasons as the assistant coach at Burlington County College in Pemberton, N.J.

At Burlington County, Klipps’ teams ranked in the national top-25; winning consecutive Garden State Athletic League championships. In addition, the squad produced multiple postseason individual honors and saw national rankings in a series of offensive categories.

At Saint Leo, Klipp will assist with outfield training, base running, hitting and other assigned duties.

Klipp also formed and headed New Jersey’s South Jersey Stingrays travel softball team. Prior to his travel ball years, the New Jersey native acted as the Vice President of Somers Point Little League.

He is a retired Ocean City, N.J. police sergeant, and also spent four years in the United State Coast Guard. Klipp has been married for 25 years and has two daughters, each of whom attends Edison State University.
