WINTER PARK, Fla. – Junior RHP Ashley Ehlers has been named the Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Week after earning two wins in the Lions' 2-1 series victory over Florida Southern. She is joined by the University of Tampa's Alyssa Colletti as the SSC Player of the Week, presented by VALIC.
A native of Dunedin, Fla., the junior pitcher tossed a seven-inning no-hitter in game one of the Lions' doubleheader against Florida Southern on Saturday. She struck out two batters in the complete game shutout. In addition, she appeared in game two of the doubleheader, pitching a perfect 10th inning in the 1-0 victory and earning her second win of the week.
Ehlers and her squad will get back in action on Friday, April 25 when they travel to Miami Shores to take on Barry in the Lions' final regular season series. First pitch of the single game on Friday is set for 7:00 p.m.
