WINTER PARK, Fla. - Following a pivotal three-game sweep of Sunshine State Conference opponent, Lynn, Saint Leo softball's Adriana Sanders has been selected as Sunshine State Conference Softball Player of the Week presented by VALIC. She is joined by the University of Tampa's Kayla Cox, who claimed Pitcher of the Week honors.
A native of Punta Gorda, Fla. the junior catcher/infielder Adriana Sanders led the Lions to a three-game series sweep of Lynn University. Going 9-of-12 (.750) at the plate and slugging for 1.000 with a double and a triple, she also drove in one run and scored five times, picking up two stolen bases (both in the series finale). In game one on Friday, Sanders went 4-of-5 at the place with two runs scored. She went 2-of-4 in game two with a double, RBI and scored. In the series finale on Saturday she was perfect at the plate (3-for-3), with a triple and two runs scored.

Sanders and her Lions squad will continue Sunshine State Conference action on Thursday, April 17th when they kick off their three-game series against Florida Southern at the University Softball Stadium on the campus of Saint Leo. First pitch of the single game Friday is set for 7:00 p.m.
