Lions Ranked 22nd in NFCA National Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Thanks to an exceptional win percentage and an 8-game win streak over Sunshine State Conference rival teams, the Saint Leo softball team has entered the NFCA national rankings list at No. 22. This past weekend the Lions finished off a three-game sweep of Lynn for their fifth consecutive series win.

Saint Leo has a 37-14 overall record and sits in first place atop the Sunshine State Conference standings with a 17-4 conference record. In addition, the Lions stand at third in the conference with a team batting average of .287, second in RBI with 206, and lead the conference in stolen bases with 137.

Just last week, the Lions broke into the national spotlight with a No. 25 spot in the NCAA National Rankings. In the NCAA South Region, Saint Leo currently sits in the No. 5 position. With one conference series remaining this coming weeked at Florida Southern, it is clear that the Lions are in control of their own postseason destiny.

On Thursday the Lions travel to Lakeland, Fla. where they will take on the Florida Southern Moccasins in a three-game series.
