SAINT LEO, Fla. - Every month the Saint Leo softball team goes out into the community and visits the residents at the Heritage Hills Nursing Home located in Dade City, Fla. in a monthly tradition Lions started two years ago.

The team goes once a month and spends a couple of hours talking and sharing memories with each resident.  Just recently, in the spirit of the Holidays, the softball team showed up in Santa hats and sang Christmas carols to all the residents along with playing Santa Claus by delivering a sack full of goody bags to each of the 100 residents.

For many of the residents the SLU softball ladies are the only visitors they receive, and many residents look forward to their visits every month.  In the past some of the residents were able to visit the Saint Leo campus and stop by University Field to watch the team play and many are looking forward to coming out again during the Lions’ upcoming 2010 season.
