Saint Leo, Fla. ( March 16, 2007) – The Saint Leo University softball team (17-11) got a no-hitter from starter Ashley Urbanik (So., Riverview, Fla.) in game one and swept a doubleheader with visiting Albany State University (8-15) on Friday evening at University Field.

The Lions won game one 9-0 in five innings before wrapping up the sweep with a 4-0 win in game two.  Saint Leo’s win streak now stands at nine games after the Lions’ fourth straight doubleheader sweep.

Urbanik issued just one walk in the contest, as she struck out seven and improved to 11-6 for the year.  Kiki VonHolt (Jr., New Port Richey, Fla.) then followed with a two-hit shutout of her own to improve to 6-5.

Both Urabnik and Hayley Mallory (Sr., Plant City, Fla.) went a combined 3-for-6 at the plate, while Ali Flynn (Sr., Miami, Fla.) knocked in a team-high three runs and was 2-for-6.

Saint Leo had an eight-run first to give Urbanik all the run support she would need in game one, as the Lions batted around the order in the opening inning of the game.  SLU then added another run in the fourth to provide the final margin.

In game two, the Lions plated single runs in the second, fourth, fifth and sixth innings to pull off the sweep.  Four different players registered an RBI, and VonHolt struck out eight for the win.

The Lions will host Augustana College on Monday at 5:00 p.m. in another home doubleheader.
