Men's Cross Country Named a Division II All-Academic Team

NEW ORLEANS, La.—The men's cross country team was named a 2012 Division II Cross Country Men's All-Academic Team, it was announced today by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA).

The men had a team GPA of 3.26 and met the requirement of having competed in an NCAA Regional—which the men's team did this past fall.

The men's cross country team had the highest team GPA out of all of the Sunshine State Conference schools with Florida Tech being the only other member school to register a team GPA of above 3.0

Three men's runners were honored for their outstanding academic achievement—Eric Dirth, Carl Dunne, and Valentin Lenz. All three were named All-Academic Honorees.

The women's cross country runners were also recognized for their work in the classroom. Jillian Browne, Andrea Maxwell, and Kylie Fagan were all named All-Academic Honorees.

Congratulations to all members of the men's cross country team for this achievment and to the three women's players who were honored individually.

Both the men's and women's cross country teams are in the midst of spring practice in preparation for next fall.
