NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Saint Leo men's cross country team earned regional recognition on Tuesday as they were regionally ranked in the south region according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The men, previously unranked, rose to the No. 10 position.
The men, having competed in five races so far this season, have steadily increased their standing in the region over the course of the year.
Next weekend, the team will compete in the University of Central Florida Invite at the UCF Cross Country Complex in Orlando, Fla.
USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning team strength with current-season results in determining predicted team finishes at the NCAA Regional Championships.
The NCAA Division II Regional Championships for both teams will be held on Saturday, November 3 and Sunday, November 4.
