DAYTONA, Fla. - The Saint Leo men's and women's track teams had a productive day at the Embry Riddle Last Chance Meet, Saturday at the ERAU Track Facility. The races featured numerous top finishes.
The women's relay team, comprised of Anet Milian, Jelena Tanci, Shelby Adams, and Kylie Fagan, took home a second place finish in the Women's Distance Medley relay.
Herns Agyemang-Duah, Thomas Watson, James Mullin, and David Garner teamed up for the 4x400 meter relay, placing 14th. In the same event on the women's side, Andrea Maxwell, Jelena Tancic, Kylie Fagan, and Natalie McCormick finished in fifth, while the team of Allison Knipe, Elise Snyder, Lee Ann Antuna, and Anet Milian placed seventh.
In the women's 800 meter run, Andrea Maxwell took home a top finish by crossing the tape at 2:20.60 and placing third. Shortly after, Kylie Fagan finished seventh with a time of 2:29.87. Behind her, Natalie McCormick finished in tenth with a time of 2:34.05, and Anet Milian placed in the top-20 with a time of 2:47.50 that earned her 19th place.
The women's 400 meter run featured another top-25 finish as Shelby Adams crossed the finish line at 1:08.94 to earn a 24th place finish. The same event on the men's side allowed Thomas Watson to finish 25th with a time of 54:62.
Running individually, Thomas Watson finished with a time of 24:49 in the men's 200 meter dash.
James Mullin lead the way for the Lions in the men's 800 meter dash event, taking home a 16th place finish after crossing the tape at 2:03.32. Less than two seconds later, David Gardener broke across the finish line to earn 20th place. Steven Brown (36th place) and Matthew Basin (39th place) rounded out the group.
Competing in the Men's One Mile event, Steven Brown led his squad with an 11th place finish and a time of 4:44.06. Kevin Papac, who finished in 4:50.05, placed 16th. On the women's side, Natalie McCormick finished on top for the Lions, earning a 7th place finish after crossing the finish line at 5:33.27. Shelby Adams followed her lead with a time of 5:45.71 and a 9th place finish, while Anet Milian finished in 6:04.58 and placed 14th.
The women also competed in the 3000 meter run, where Jelena Tancic captured a second-place finish after her run of 10:16.39. Elyse Snyder rounded out the top-20 with a 19th place finish and a time of 12:38.84, while Allison Knipe and Lee Ann Antuna placed 28th and 29th, respectively.
The Lions return to action on Friday, March 17, when they participate in the University of South Florida Open at the USF Track and Field Stadium in Tampa, Fla.
