Senior Earns First POW of the Season
WINTER PARK, Fla. - Saint Leo senior Matt Nicholson-Lewis has been recognized as the Sunshine State Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week presented by VALIC.
Nicholson-Lewis went a combined 5-0 in singles and doubles play for the No. 8 Lions. In singles action, Nicholson-Lewis defeated No. 6 Concordia's Tomasz Olfans, 7-5, 3-6, 12-10, in No. 3 singles play and then teamed with Victor Lozier to defeated No. 25 Juuso Ojanen and Pulat Babadjanov, 8-5. Saint Leo won the match 6-3. The senior then defeated No. 3 West Florida's Elio Latella in singles action 6-4, 2-6, 10-6. Teamed with Lozier, the Lion duo defeated No. 10 Alex Peyrot and Domenico Sano of West Florida, 8-5.

The Saint Leo men's tennis team returns to action on Wednesday, March 12, when they host Saint Mary's (Texas), at the Saint Leo Tennis Center. Match time is slated for 3 p.m.
