Men’s Tennis Jumps into Top-10 in Nation; Adjenak Ranked 17th

SAINT LEO, Fla. - The Saint Leo men's tennis team has been rewarded for another winning season in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association's rankings as the Lions have jumped into the top-10 in the poll released earlier this week.  The Lions sit 10th in the poll, a jump of five spots from their previous rank.

Maintaining a spot in individual rankings, Aloua Adjenak jumped to 17th in the ITA for Division II.  Adjenak also earned All-Conference First Team honors courtesy of a 13-6 overall record while going 4-2 in SSC play entirely at No. 1 singles. Facing the conference's top competitors, the native of Paris, France's most notable wins came against the then seventh-ranked Marco Mokrzycki, the SSC's Player of the Year.  Playing the entirety of his season at the top singles spot, he dominated his position, gaining three victories against nationally-ranked opponents.

After wrapping up another successful campaign, Head Coach James Bryce and the Lions participated in another NCAA South Region Tournament, advancing to the championship match before falling to Barry.  The Lions went 16-7 on the season, finishing second in the conference while continuing to further the notoriety of the Saint Leo Men's Tennis program.
