Lions Headed to the NCAA Postseason; Rollins Is First Test

SAINT LEO, Fla. - The Saint Leo men's and women's tennis teams have been selected to compete in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. The men were tagged as the five seed and will take on Rollins in Pensacola, Fla. Meanwhile, the women, also a five-seed, will take on the four-seeded Tars from Miami Shores, Fla.

The men's match is set for Sunday, April 29, while the women will hit the court on Monday, April 30. Match times are still to be determined. 

The men, who will see Rollins for the second time in as many matches, have compiled a 17-6 record on the season. They are coming off a 2-1 record in the Florida Blue Sunshine State Conference Championships, having their run highlighted by the programs first-ever win over Rollins, 5-3.

The squad enters the NCAA Tournament having won eight-of-10 matches.

The women, meanwhile, are also seeing the Tars for the second consecutive match. Having dropped all three doubles matches, Saint Leo nearly produced an unbelievable upset as they won four singles matches before falling just short, 5-4, at the SSC Championships. The women have compiled a 17-7 mark on the season and have been successful in eight of the their last 11 matches.
